Ruth Margaret Kohlwey, 84|
Ruth Margaret Kohlwey (nee Riemer) of Grafton passed away on March
9, 2012, at the age of 84.
The beloved wife of Otto, they were married Oct. 5, 1957. They were
blessed with four children, Heidi (Todd) Andrews, Waterloo; Amy
Kohlwey, Grafton; Peter (Gloria) Kohlwey, Freedom; and Nell (Timothy)
Frank, Cedarburg. She is further survived by one grandson, Cristian
Gonzalez of Freedom; a brother, Otto Riemer, Galesville; and a sister-
in-law, Marge Riemer, Hartland; many other nieces, nephews, extended
family and friends in Chicago.
Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, Karl Riemer; and her
sister-in-law, Patricia Riemer.
Ruth was a 1945 graduate of Lutheran High School in Milwaukee,
received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Mary College and her
masterís degree from University of Illinois. Ruth loved cooking and
travel and her outreach efforts touched many lives. She was an active
volunteer involved in many organizations over the years, including;
Ozaukee County Homemakers, St. Paulís Sharing Table and St. Paulís
School Library, St. Maryís Breast Cancer Awareness, Ozaukee County
Farm Bureau Women, Master Farmers, the Covered Bridge 4-H Club and
Lutheran Womenís Missionary League. Ruth was a member of St. Paulís
Lutheran Church in Grafton.
A memorial gathering will be held today, March 13, 2012, at St.
Paulís Lutheran Church, 701 Washington St., Grafton, from 4 p.m.
until 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to: Mount Lebanon
Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, St. Paulís Lutheran Church, Grafton and
the Ozaukee County 4-H Foundation.
