Dennis O. Gindt, 71

Dennis O. Gindt "Mickey," 71, of Kewaskum, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. He was born on Jan. 24, 1941 in the town of LeRoy to Joseph and Viola (nee Mueller) Gindt. On Sept. 12, 1964, he was united in marriage to Diane Schraufnagel at St. Andrews Catholic Church in LeRoy. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was employed at Gehl Company in West Bend for 40 years and the Wisconsin Auto Auction of Brownsville for the last 10 years. He loved spending time with his wife and children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. He was a member of Gehl Hexelbank Club, West Bend/Barton Sportsman Club, and American Legion Post #384 of Kewaskum.

Dennis was a cancer survivor for over 37 years with four different types of cancer. Fighting it courageously ítill the end. He was our HERO!

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane; children, Michael of West Bend, Michelle (Todd) Krapfl of Lomira, Randy (Patti) of West Bend, Gregg of Kewaskum; grandchildren, Amanda, Chase, Megan, Zach, Jessica, Jay, Christine, and Kristopher; great-grandson, Landen; brother, Joe (Joan) Gindt of West Bend; brother-in-law Armond Sterr of El Paso, Texas and sister-in-law Helen Gindt of Mayville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floyd (Rose-ann) of Mayville, Ron (Karen) Schraufnagel of Hartford, Doris (Tom) Davidsen of Walden, Colo., and Darlene (Dick) Vollmer of St. Germain. He is further survived by a special nephew, Mark Gindt; special friends, Mary and Jerry, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Sterr; brother, Marvin; parents-in-law, Beno and Maxine Schraufnagel; and sister-in-law, Christine Schraufnagel.

The funeral service for Dennis will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Lucas Lutheran Church (1417 Parkview Drive, Kewaskum, WI 53040) with Pastor Troy Swenson presiding. The visitation times will be on Friday, March 16 from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday, March 17 from 9-9:45 a.m. at the church only. Interment will take place at Ledgeview Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
