Gordon H. Whyte, 90|
Gordon H. Whyte passed away at the Cedar Community on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at the age of 90 years.
Gordon was born on March 22, 1921, in Butler to Samuel and Agnes (nee Anderson) Whyte. He married Ruth Jacoby on August 31, 1941. He enlisted in the United States Navy in January of 1943 and was a plank owner on the USS Crouter DE11 in the South Pacific until October of 1945.
Gordon worked for 39 years for Wisconsin Drill Head and lived most of his life on a small farm north of Waukesha. Family times were special to him. Gordon enjoyed woodworking and spending time at the Cedar Ridge Woodshop.
Gordon is survived by his wife Ruth, children G. Kenneth (Diana), Carolyn (James), and Sherrie (Scott). He is further survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother Charles (Ester), sister-in-law Dolores Jacoby and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Agnes Whyte.
A Memorial Service for Gordon will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Peace United Church of Christ (343 1st St. in Kewaskum) with the Rev. Eric Kirkegaard presiding. Gathering will be at the church only on Sunday, March 25, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. A private interment will take place at Washington County Memor-ial Park on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Memorials are appreciated to Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum or Cedar Community.
