Hilary C. Martin|
Hilary C. Martin, age 71, of Hartford, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
Hilary was born on Jan. 23, 1941, in Hales Corners, Wis., to Hilary and Catherine (nee Hanger) Martin.
He graduated from West Bend High School in 1959 and the attended Marquette University. Hilary served his country in the National Guard.
He was a businessman in Washington County for most of his career until his health disabled him and prompted his early retirement.
Hilary was an avid and talented sportsman, enjoying golf, skiing, baseball, hunting and motorcycle riding.
His most memorable moments revolved around relaxing at the farm, and spending time with his pets, Coco, Mabel and Mr. Peabody.
He is survived by his beloved soul mate, Nancy, his son Nicholas (Aubree), two grandchildren: Taetem and Lincoln. Three sisters: Nancy Gremminger, Mary Wohlwend and Judy (Lee) Barwick. Two sisters-in-law Florence Martin and Harriet Martin. He is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilary and Catherine Martin and two brothers: John and James and a sister in infancy: three brothers-in-law Jack Gremminger, Larry Wohlwend and James Rintelman.
A private Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, March 22, 2012, with Father David LaPlante officiating. The burial was at St. Kilian Cemetery, Hartford.
We would like to extend a special and heartfelt Thank You to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center for the past twelve years of loving and compassionate care given to Hilary.
