George R. Diercksmeier,
George Ralph Diercksmeier, age 87, of West Bend, died May 2, 2012.
He was born to the late George and Isabelle Diercksmeier on May 16, 1925, in Milwaukee. He graduated from Washington High School. He married Helen Kinner in 1950, and they lived in Milwaukee before locating to West Bend.
George served in the Army during WWII as an antitank gunner in the “Bloody Bucket” 109th Infantry of the 28th Division. After serving, he worked at Harley Davidson for 38 years before re-tiring. He spent his last years under the great care of the staff at Cedar Community, where he was very active.
George is survived by wife Helen, three children, Brent, Michael and Mary, four grandchildren, Ashley, Sara, Derek and Gabriella, and one great grandchild Logan. He is preceded in death by his great-granddaughter Kyleigh Snuggs.
A memorial service for George will be at noon on Monday, May 7, 2012, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive in West Bend.
Visitation will be from 10-11:45 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012, at the funeral home only. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to the Disabled Amercan Veterans Organization.
