Charles ‘Chuck‘ Skinner,
Charles “Chuck” Skinner, 77, of Hartford, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 14, 1934, in Manchester, Iowa, to Francis and Edith (nee Dorman) Skinner. Chuck was united in marriage to Delores Margelowsky on Feb. 13, 1955, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford.
Chuck started working at A.O. Smith Harvester in Milwaukee producing Blue Gloss Silos, he then went to Helgesen Harvester in Janesville, which brought him to Helgesen Industries in Hartford. Chuck finished his working career at Menasha Corp. in Hartford retiring in 2001. He loved gardening, his yard work, traveling and especially his family. Another love of his life was restoring antique electric yard tractors. He would enjoy the fellowship of other tractor enthusiasts at the numerous tractors shows where he displayed his treasures.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 57 years, Delores; his daughters, Barb (Dave) Jones of Shorewood, Patty (Brian) Loeffler of Grafton, Kathy (Rich) Trabert of Colorado and Judy (Steve) Carter of North Carolina; eight grandchildren: David (Jennifer), Stuart, Ben, Mike, Tim, Teresa, Jessica (Travis) and Megan; brothers: Robert (Ruth) Skinner of Michigan and Bill (Helen) Skinner of Iowa; and his sister-in-law Shirley Margelowsky of Hartford. He is survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Frances and his brother George Skinner.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford. The family will greet relatives and friends Monday here at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society or Froedtert Hospital Foundation appreciated.
