Dennis “Whitey” E. Schloemer, 72, of West Bend died peacefully on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at his residence after suffering from cancer. He was born July 4, 1939, in West Bend to the late Delbert and Virginia (nee Lochen) Schloemer.
He enjoyed playing drums in their family band, “The Beertones,” and played in many local places during their playing days.
He is survived by his six children: Cyndee (Ric) Schultz, Sheri (Bob) Frank, Wendy (Jim Engeldinger) Schloemer, Rick (special friend Pam Wenzel) Schloemer, Chris (special friend Chuck Krummel) Schloemer and Jeff Schloemer; 16 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother Dale D. (Lydia) Schloemer, a special nephew Dale Brian (Therese) Schloemer, a friend and caregiver Louise Plaskey, his ex-wife and friend Sandy Fischer, and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Whitey was preceded in death by his parents Delbert and Virginia Schloemer, his daughter Kelly Plaskey and three brothers Bobby, David and D.J.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, May 11, 2012, at 6 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with visitation from 4-5:45 p.m. Memorials are preferred.
