Evelyn I. Berth (nee Trott, formerly Schoeder), 83, of West Bend died Friday, May 11, 2012, at the Select Specialty Hospital in West Allis. She was born Feb. 4, 1929, in West Bend to the late William and Hildegard (nee Kohler) Trott and married Edwin Schoeder on April 12, 1944, in Random Lake. She then married Merlin H. Berth on Nov. 26, 1963, in Chicago. Edwin and Merlin have preceded her in death.
Evelyn worked at the West Bend Company for 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph’s Hospital and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughters: Bonnie (Thomas) Bichler of Random Lake and Patricia (Thomas) Slezewski of Random Lake, her daughter-in-law Susan (Barry) Keippel, and six grandchildren: Timothy, Michael, Tracy, Tory, Terri and Toni. She is further survived by 21 great-grandchildren, two brothers: Melvin Trott of Plymouth and Lloyd Trott of Plymouth, her sister Theresa (Darrel) Wilke of Random Lake, close neighbors Jeff and Mindy Steinert, and sisters-in-law, brothers in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents William and Hildegard Trott, her husbands Edwin Schoeder and Melvin Berth, her son Edward Schoeder, and two brothers Edward Trott and Willard Trott.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at 4 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with the Rev. Nathan Reesman presiding. Burial will be Wednesday in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, at the church only from 1-3:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Froedtert Health St. Joseph’s Hospital are appreciated.
