Victor L. Koch, 82

Victor L. “Mickey” Koch, 82, of Hartford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born April 20, 1930, in the town of Rubicon to John and Ruby (Christenson) Koch. Victor was united in marriage to Donna McMillan on Oct. 19, 1957, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

During the Korean War Victor served two years in the U.S. Army, including one tour in Korea. His passion was for his family. Victor also loved everything “outdoors;” farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, making maple syrup and his many dogs. He enjoyed attending auctions where farm equipment and antiques were listed.

Victor was a lifelong carpenter, with more than 50 years with the Carpenters Union. He worked on many homes, churches, schools and businesses in the area.

Victor is survived by his loving wife Donna; children, Bruce (Janet), Brad (Sally) and Charlie Koch (special friend Jenn and children); grandchildren Katie, Drew, and Steven; and his brothers and sisters-in-law Melvin Frank, Pat Roedl and Hans (Arlene) Oelke. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Roberta, Stanley, Lloyd, Lovell, Bernice, Verna, and Robert.

He will be missed by his neighbors; the Abbott family, Ritter family, Becker family, many co-workers and his dog “Blue.”

A celebration of Victor’s life will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Doug Livingston officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hartford.

Memorials to the Aurora Visiting Nurses Association Hospice or the Interfaith Caregivers of West Bend are appreciated by the family.

Victor’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Pirvanescu and staff and the hospice staff for their kindness and care, the Interfaith Caregivers of West Bend, and our church family for their prayers and food donations.
