Leona B. Ashley, 80 |
Leona B. Ashley (nee Simon) died peacefully with her loving family around her on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at her great-niece’s home in the town of Sherman where she resided for the past six months.
Leona was born on Dec. 13, 1931, in Grafton, the daughter of the late John and Emma (nee Wollmann) Simon. She married Fred “Bud” Ashley Jr. on Oct. 13, 1967.
The youngest of seven, Leona’s life was an adventure that took her across the United States many times. Her family and faith were very important to her.
She enjoyed working with horses, traveling, reading, and painting on canvas and reverse glass. A factory worker and “over-the-road” tractor-trailer driver, she retired from Fabrico Products in Mequon.
She is survived by a step grandson, two sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends throughout the United States. She is preceded in death by her husband and siblings.
Per Leona’s wish, no formal funeral services will be held. The family wishes to express a special “Thank You” to Hospice Advantage for serving the family.
