Raymond Dornacker, 66


Raymond Dornacker, 66, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on April 28, 1946, in the town of Addison, to the late Theodore and Lorraine (nee Hartman) Dornacker.

Raymond served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1968. He then united with Lois (nee Rosenthal) on April 19, 1969, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Addison.

He cherished his loving wife and daughter, and his devoted son-in-law. He loved being a “Geezer” to his granddaughters, who put a sparkle in his eye that will never be forgotten. Raymond worked at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for 40 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of and was actively involved at St. Peters Lutheran Church and served as president of the Church Counsel and a member of the Kohlsville Volunteer Fire Department for 39 years and the last 20 years he served as the fire chief. Also a member of the Washington County Fire Chiefs Association.

He is survived by his wife Lois; daughter Tina (James) Herriges; granddaughters Chelsea Rae and Hailey Leanne; siblings Marilyn Legate, Agnes Legate, Delores Sauer, Janette (Dennis) Cardarelle, Kay Dornacker, and Jerome “Sam” (Luann) Dornacker; in-laws Gerald (Luise), Eugene (Charlotte), David (Doris), Gordon (Pat), Kenneth (Doris) Rosenthal, Wilma (Gerald) Giese, and Darlene (Conrad) Scheunemann; godchildren John Sauer, Greg Legate, Beth Janssen, Jamie Dornacker, Terri Schweppe, Todd Fechter, and Ken Rosenthal, Jr. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Many family members were friends and many friends were as close as family, which includes the Kohlsville Fire Department family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Richard Dornacker and Valeria Legate; father-inlaw Arnold Rosenthal and mother-in-laws Dorothea and Evelyn Rosenthal.

Funeral Services for Raymond will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church (4930 Beaver Dam Road in Addison) with Pastor Paul Reede presiding. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24, from 3-6:45 p.m. at Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W. Paradise Drive in West Bend) with the Kohlsville Fire Department walk-thru at 6:45 p.m. There will also be a visitation on Friday, May 25 from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Internment will take place on Friday, May 25, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
