Eugene A. Dorzok, 64, of West Bend found his Angel on Monday, May 21, 2012, at The Kathy Hospice. He was born on Oct. 26, 1947, in Fessenden, N.D., to the late Eldor and Lillie (nee Lamm) Dorzok. As a child, the family moved to the West Bend area.
As a self-taught carpenter, his projects included building, fixing and remodeling. He also loved the outdoors and shared his hobby with family and friends alike.
Gene’s life was devoted to his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandson. He also was fondly called “Grandpa Gene” by many children.
He is with the Lord and his angels now.
Survivors include his wife Melodee (nee Gaffke); two daughters Lisa (Tom) Zurn of Brownsville and Carla Keller (Dan “Butch” Thelen) of the town of Trenton; four grandchildren Megan, Jesse and Kaitlyn Zurn and Lucas Thelen; one great-grandson Carter Everard-Zurn; seven brothers and sisters William (Peggy) of Mountain Home, Ark., Leroy (Mary) Dorzok of Tipler, Robert of Tomah, Gerald (Yvonne) of Mosinee, Robin of Waldo, Bonnie (James) Beck of West Bend and Susan (Leonard) Luterbach of Missouri; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 24, at the Schmidt Funeral Home at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the village of Brownsville Cemetery, Brownsville. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
