Steven Wayne Jaschob, 65, of West Bend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 26 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital due to complications from a stroke he suffered on May 20.
He was born in Sheboygan on March 29, 1947 to Ralph and Margaret (Spetta) Jaschob. He graduated from West Bend High School in 1965. He worked at Mercury Marine until his retirement in November 2009. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969.
He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Adele Monday, on May 7, 1966. He is survived by his wife and four children: Charlene Ann Jaschob of Jefferson, Deborah Jean Kaetterhenry of Eden, Tammy Jo Prinz of West Bend and Shawn Michael (Holly Menke) Jaschob of Fond du Lac.
He is further survived by his 12 wonderful grandchildren: Amy Jaschob, Ryne Prinz, Zaccaria Jaschob, Nathaniel Tennies, Alyssa Prinz, Andrew Jaschob, Bryce Prinz, Tobias Jaschob, Claire Jaschob, Mikaela Jaschob, Montana Prinz, and Elijah Jaschob and also by his dog, Buddy. He is also survived by his sisters Darleen (George) Diana of Menasha and Sandy (Dennis) Dunek of Sparta and three brother-in-laws: Norbert (Mary Jo) Monday of West Bend, Kenneth Monday of Jackson, and Michael Monday of Las Vegas and three sister-in-laws: Mary Ann Monday of Las Vegas, Cathy Matthiae of Iron Ridge, and Rosie Spartz of West Bend. Steve was godfather to Timothy Diana, Amy Dunek and Ryne Prinz. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Our family wants to extend special gratitude to the caring staff in the neurology ICU at Froedtert Memorial Hospital for all that they have done for Steve during his week stay.
Per Steve’s wishes, the family will be having a private memorial service. They will also be honoring him by a celebration of his life at a later date.
