Phyllis J. Mueller, nee Bolin, 75, of Hartford, formerly of West Bend, died on Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at the Aurora Medical Center, Washington County. She was born on Nov. 1, 1935, to the late Edward and Alice (nee Schallock) Bolin.
On Feb. 20, 1951, she was united in marriage to James R. Mueller at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Bend. Jim predeceased on Sept. 13, 1974.
For more than 60 years, she worked at Amity Leather Products as a seamstress and in all the departments. Her mother, Alice Bolin, had worked at Amity and said a few good words to her floor lady, they lied about Phyllis’ age to get her “in there” due to hard times. For the past three years, she was a resident of the Hartford area.
Phyllis had a love of animals. Over the years, she raised Arabian horses, dogs, cats and chickens. She also had prize-winning rabbits which were shown at the Washington County Fair and the surrounding areas.
Survivors include a brother Ken (Corrine) Bolin; many nieces and nephews; Doris Seaman, a dear friend since childhood; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
