Lorraine M. Braun, 82Lorraine M. Braun (nee Heinecke), 82, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012. She was born on Aug. 10, 1930, to George and Sybilla Heinecke (nee Schaeffer).
While raising her six children, Lorraine was very involved in the Boy and Girl Scouts of America, school, and Christian Mothers Group. She loved history and enjoyed gathering information for the Barton Historical Society and her own family geneology. She was the “Avon Lady” for her Barton Community in the ’60s. During tax season, she was employed for Schloemer Law Office for more than 30 years. She and her husband attended Young at Heart. Her great joys were crocheting various gifts for her family and community, reading, and spending time with Francis and her family at their cottage on Shawano Lake. She was loving and giving – an angel that walked on Earth.
She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 62 years, Francis; cherished children, Chris (Mark) Zelinski, Steve (Renee) Braun, Ken (Joyce) Braun, Tom (Margie) Braun, Al (Carrie) Ludin, Lauri (Ken) Simon; beloved grandchildren, Jenny (Pete) Smith, Jessica (Adam) Collins, Melissa Markel, Becky (Bob) Johnson, Paula (Troy) Patterson, Kevin (Amanda) Braun, Catherine (Justin) Wendt, Julie Braun, Anna (Bernie) Booth, Jacob (Kelly) Braun, Matthew Braun, Hilary (John) Fry, Amy (James) Gentry, Rachel Schimtz, Tracy Simon, and Dean (Betsy) Simon; dear great-grandchildren, Zack, Jacie, Maddy, Bryanna, Jordan, Leah, Gabriel, Autumn, Trinity, Korbin, Cian, Zoe, Lily, Sully, Nolan, Will, Ada, Julia, Jake, and Paxton; brother, George Heinecke; brotherin-law, Thomas Breuer. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Donald (Dorothy) Heinecke, Catherine Breuer, and Carol (Ervin) Westphal.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (406 Jefferson St., West Bend, WI 53090) at 7 p.m. The visitation will be held at church on Monday, Nov. 5, from 4-6:45 p.m. Interment will take place at (new) St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Mary’s School.
