Edward N. Mrotek, 72

Edward N. Mrotek of Grafton passed away Oct. 31, 2012, at the age of 72.

He had a colorful career at Globe Union/JCI, meeting every challenge assigned to him over 42 years of dedicated service. The automotive battery would not be what it is today without the contribution of Edís ingenuity and determination. He retired over 50 worldwide patents to his credit.

Ed traveled extensively for business and pleasure, enjoying many cruises with his wife and friends, and making new friends all over the globe through his work for JCI. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, both in Europe and domestically.

Ed was the dearly loved and devoted husband of Diana (nee Pietrzak).

They were united in marriage Aug. 18, 1990. They were blessed with a loving and supportive son, Paul, and daughters, Jill and Becky. He took pride in his blended family, Joe, Deb, Dave (Cheryl) and Jim (Kristy) Lancello. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to terrific and amazing grandchildren, Torey (Amy), Josh, Kailey, Gavin, Melissa, Nathan, Katelyn, Maranda and Hailey. He is further survived by niece, Claudia (Jeffrey), and great-niece, Marcia; nephew Mark (Judy); niece, Sheryl (Wayne), and great-nieces, Arynn, Shelby, Amanda, Grace and great-nephew, Jack; sister-in-law, Joan Maznio; and brother-in- law, Duane Pietrzak. Ed is further survived by other relatives and many dear friends, who all loved and cherished Ed and his many jokes and "true" stories. Edís sense of humor, quick wit, curiosity and strong work ethic influenced everyone who knew him.

Ed was preceded in death by parents, Casimer Sr. and Wanda; brother and sister-in-law, Casimer Jr. and Lila; father-in-law and mother-in- law, Joseph and Stella Pietrzak; daughter-in-law, Marie Lancello; nephew, Kevin Maznio; brother-in-law, Eugene Maznio; and grandson, Timmy Lancello.
