Schwichtenberg, 74
Helmuth S. “Squeaky” Schwichtenberg, 74, of Lake Placid, Fla., died
Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Florida Hospital in Lake Placid. He was a
native of Wisconsin, born April 10, 1938, in Washington County, son of
Ms. Mataldae and Adolf Schwichtenberg.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. Squeaky served as a police officer in
Washington County and a wrecker service officer in West Bend before
coming to Lake Placid in 1988 from West Bend. After moving to Lake
Placid he worked for Tom Clark as a wrecker officer and for George Mason
Citrus as a truck driver.
Squeaky was very generous with his time. He was an avid volunteer for
disaster relief, making runs all throughout the states carrying relief
items for those stricken. He was a member of Lake Placid Church of
Christ, Moose, and lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He was an avid follower of NASCAR and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
Squeaky is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Donna Mae Ewert
Schwichtenberg; children, Dean (Teresa), James, Scott Sr., all of West
Bend, and Jean of Slinger; brother, Walter of Lomira; seven
grandchildren; and he was blessed with three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Friday, Nov. 9, at the VFW Post, 260 Sand
Drive, West Bend, WI 53095, with visitation at 5:30 p.m., service at 7
p.m. and celebration of life at 8 p.m.
