Eugenia R. Kornath, 86

Eugenia R. “Jean” Kornath, 86, of Milwaukee, entered eternity on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.

She was born on May 31, 1926, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Anthony and Maryann (Wolett) Lajca, and in January 1957 she married Wolfgang “Walter” Kornath at St. Josaphat Basilica in Milwaukee. Walter passed away in 1992. Jean was a former member of St. Josaphat Basilica in Milwaukee. She was a loving mother dedicated to raising her son. After retiring, she volunteered her time at the Ascension Lutheran meal site in Milwaukee.

Those Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, the Rev. Edwin Kornath of Kewaskum, a dear family friend, Mary Balzar of West Bend, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley (Genevieve) Lajca and two sisters, Alvina Bub and Dorothy (Anthony) Franszczak.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jean will be held at noon on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum with the Rev. Edwin Kornath officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
