Jean Carolyn Guenther, (nee Belstrom) of Brookfield, peacefully entered eternal life at her home on Sunday, Nov, 18, 2012. She was the daughter of William and Anna Belstrom. Jean grew up in Negaunee, Mich., with two older brothers, William and Donald Belstrom.
Jean earned her bachelor's degree at Northern Michigan University at Marquette. She received her first teaching position at Ann Arbor, Mich. While there she earned her master-s degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She has always been an avid fan of the NMU Wildcats, Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Jean moved to the Milwaukee area in 1952, accepting a teaching position in the Wauwatosa School District. She spent the rest of her teaching career at Mc-Kinley Elementary School teaching fourth grade, retiring in 1984. Her many students are close to her heart.
In 1962 she married David James Guenther of Oshkosh. They shared a very special relationship until Davidís death in 1997. They enjoyed many things including travel, and spending time at The Birches, their cottage. Jean was an active member of the Republican Party spending many years planning and participating in Republican Women projects. She enjoyed walking, spending time with her many friends, which included playing bridge, and was a master at needlework and other crafts.
She is survived by a sister- in-law Ernestine Belstrom, cousin Holly Mathias, members of the Guenther family including the Robert Reinke family, and beloved friend and guardian Robert Adams and family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, other family and friends.

A service will be held at the Harder Funeral Home, 18700 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield, on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park.
