John A. Casper 85
John A. Casper, age 85, of West Bend,
died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.
He was born April 8, 1927, in Milwaukee to the late Alexander and
Cecelia (nee Fischer) Casper.
John worked at Lochen’s in Newburg for many years, retiring in 1989.
Following his retirement he enjoyed spending the winters in Texas.
He liked to sing and sang in the church choir and with the Cedar
Singers. He was an avid fisherman and liked bowling and playing
baseball.
John is survived by his seven children: Nancy (Randy) Klabunde of Port
Washington, Steve (Karen) of Oshkosh, Amy Shaver of West Bend, Lora
(Tom) Pence of Okemos, Mich., Kim (Cindy) of Cedar Creek, Texas, Scott
(Linda) of Austin, Texas, and Dawn (Ted) Fischer of Port Washington; 19
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by
his siblings, Bernice Odgers of Hartford, Carole Sauer of Watertown and
Philip Casper of West Bend; his sister-in-law, Anne Casper of West Bend;
and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Cecelia Casper; his
son-in-law, Frank B. Shaver Jr.; his sister, Elayne Dillie; his brother,
Herman Casper; his sister-in-law, Janet Casper; and two brothers-in-law
Don Odgers and Dave Sauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at noon
at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg with the Rev. Kevin Kowalske
presiding. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be
Friday, at the church only from 10-11:45 a.m.
