Grace Arlene Hiller, 92, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Lillian Kerr Healthcare Center Rennes in Pehlps.
Grace was born on Nov. 30, 1919, in the town of Farmington, to Walter and Sophia Laatsch. She was raised in the town of Farmington, attending Boltonville Grade School and graduated from West Bend High School.
She married George E. Hiller Jr., Nov. 23, 1949, at St. Martins Evangelical Church in Fillmore. The couple farmed in Cascade before retiring and moving to Phelps in 1974.
She was a member of the Phelps Congregational UCC Church. She loved traveling and fishing and was a great homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 2007, a brother, Howard Laatsch of Lake Mills, and a great-grandchild, Rafael.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mae Laatsch of Lake Mills and Gladys Hiller of Port Washington; two sons, George C. Hiller III (Corrina) of Newburg and Richard (Marjorie) Hiller of Phelps; four grandchildren Kerry Cable, George Scott (Betsy) Hiller IV, and Tammi Hiller, all of West Bend, and Lisa (Michael) Duquaine of Phelps; three great-grandchildren, Marc, Marina, Emiliano, Charlie; and one great-great-grandchild Eliana.
A memorial service will be held at the Phelps Congregational Church, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
