Mary K. Stephans, 84


Mary K. Stephans (nee Hauser), 84, of Hartford, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 2, 1928 to Raymond W. and Monica C. Hauser (nee Klink) in Hartford. Mary was united in marriage to Wilfred “Bill” A. Stephans in Evergreen, Colo., on Aug. 4, 1951.

She will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family, supporting and watching her grandchildren's sport teams, helping found and director of Hartford Senior Friends, and hosting traditional Sunday morning family “hard roll” gathering.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband Bill of 61 years; loving children Monica Bartley of Hartford, Martha (Michael) Sheridan of Slinger, Mary Kluck, Paul (Janel) Stephans, Francie (Jay) Robbe, and John (Sheila) Stephans all of Hartford; cherished grandchildren Joe (Kim) Bartley, Theresa (Ian) Virnig, Matt Bartley, Sara (Kyle) Bille, Joe Sheridan, Ben Kluck, Jim (Sara) Kluck, Tom Kluck, Jordan, Aaron, Maria, Monica and Julia Stephans, Luke, Ann, Clare, and Sarah Robbe, Brandon Rohloff, and Hannah Stephans; and great-grandchildren Kate Bartley, Ava and Ryan Bille. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, infant twin sons Mark and Michael Stephans, and son-in-law Ken Kluck.

Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at 9 a.m. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Help of Christians, at Holy Hill, 1525 Carmel Road, Hubertus, with the Rev. Fred Alexander, OCD officiating.

Visitation will be at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford, on Thursday, Oct, 25, from 3-7 p.m, with a prayer service at 2:30 p.m.

Interment at St. Kilian Cemetery, Hartford Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, following Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Hartford Hawks baseball team, St. Mary of the Hill Church or the charity of one’s choice are appreciated.
