Clarence “George” Herbst Jr., age 86 years, of Menomonee Falls, was born to eternal life Monday, Sept. 3, 2012.
He was born in the town of Trenton to the late Clarence and Irma Herbst on April 26, 1926.
He is a World War II veteran. When he returned home, he married the love of his life, the late Anna Mae “Maisie” (nee Blohm), on Dec. 11, 1948. They celebrated 60 years together just prior to her death. He spent the majority of his career in the baking industry as a route salesman. He retired in 1987. George loved to hunt, fish, camp, and spend time in the great outdoors with his family and friends. He loved to reminisce with his life stories.
Dad will be deeply missed by his children, Sandra (Randy) Schneider, Michael (Donna), James (Sandy), Steven (Jill), the late Kathy (Doug) Graff and David (Lee Ann). Loving grandfather of Margaret (Brian) Schneider-Curtiss, Matthew (Sara) Schneider, Heather and Amanda Herbst, Eric and Brian Herbst, Amy (William) Van Dalen, Adam Herbst, Jessica (Troy) Paczesny, Danielle Graff, Nicole (Eric) Crew and Erica and Lucas Herbst. Proud great-grandfather of Annelise, Nora, and Amelia Paczesny, Ruby, Grace, and Noah Schneider, Cassandra Karius, Jack Curtiss and Iain Crew. Brother of Richard (Pat) and Donald Herbst. Brother-in-law of Maurine Herbst and Edward (Lena) Blohm.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harvey and Gerald Herbst. He is further survived by numerous other family and friends.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service.
