Elroy A. Bruss
A
funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012,
11 a.m. at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Cedarburg,
for Elroy A. Bruss, who entered heaven on Sept. 4, 2012.
The Rev. Randolph Raasch will officiate the funeral
service. Interment will take place at Immanuel Cemetery,
in Cedarburg.
Memorials to First Immanuel Lutheran Church, the
Cedarburg Cultural Center or the Stars & Stripes Honor
Flight program are appreciated.

Elroy A. Bruss was born in Colby the son of Albert
Bruss and Amelia (nee Schwantes) Bruss. He later
graduated from Valparaiso University, and received a law
degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Elroy served his country during World War II, as a
P51 pilot and served with the 8th Army Air Corp 78th
Fighter Group at Duxford, England Air Base.
Elroy was the vice president of finance at Doerr
Electric, and later owned and operated the Palmer
Fixture Co. Elroy served his community as an alderman,
and was also on the police and fire commission. He
served as chairman of the pool committee, which built
the very first pool in Cedarburg.
Elroy was also a charter member of the
Cedarburg-Grafton Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow, as
well as a member of the Peter Wollner American Legion
Post, in Cedarburg. He was also a longtime member of
First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.
Elroy is survived by his wife, Lois; children,
Steven, Mark (Gail) and Ellen (Mark); grandchildren,
Stephanie and Jonathan; and sister, Anita Bock. He is
further survived by other relatives and friends.
