Robert
E. Wendland, 82, of Mequon, passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, Aug. 29, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Ruth Ann
Wendland (nee Jones); his children, Laura (Scott)
Humber, Ellen (Tom) McKay, Robert
(Pam) Wendland, David Wendland, Amy (Tim) Schmidt; as
well as grandchildren, Benjamin, Jameson, Griffin, Adam
(Kelly), Mark, Joshua, Alexander, Elinor, Harrison,
Julia, Hannah, Noah, Caleb; and great-grandchildren,
Grace and Audrey. He is further survived by his brother,
Edward Wendland.
Bob’s family was the centerpiece of his rich and
beautiful life. His professional career of over 40 years
in the wholesale drug industry culminated with his
retirement as CEO of the F. Dohmen Co. His passion for
music was a gift he passed to each of his children and
his wit, creativity and optimistic nature will be
forever missed. He is now playing his trumpet somewhere
over the rainbow.
Memorial services were conducted on Monday, Sept. 3,
at Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Mequon.
