Margaret M. Prom, 82
Margaret
M. Prom, passed away in the morning hours of Wednesday,
Sept. 5, 2012, at Harbor Club in Port Washington where
she had been a resident. She was 82 years old. Margaret
was born in Port Washington on Feb. 5, 1930, the
daughter of Peter N. Poull and Anna Karrels Poull. She
grew up on the family farm in the town of Belgium. She
graduated from Port Washington High School in 1947.
After high school, she attended Miss Brown’s Business
School in Milwaukee, after which she started work at A.C.
Spark Plug.
On April 24, 1954 she married Harold Prom at St. Mary
Catholic Church in Lake Church. The couple moved to the
Grafton area. Later in life, she worked at Marx
Advertising and was a longtime employee of Sharbuno’s
Jewelers in Port Washington.
Margaret was a current member of St. Mary’s Catholic
Church in Port Washington, and a longtime member of St.
Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton, where she was
active in the choir. Her hobbies included gardening,
swimming and singing in various choral groups. She is
survived by her sisters and brothers-in law, Mary (the
late Ted) Poull of Port Washington, Lillian (the late
Richard) Poull of Oak Creek, Bob (Marie) Prom of
Belgium, Fred (Judy) Prom of Mayville, Al (Joanne) Prom
of Newburg, and Marge (John) Davel of Tomah. She is
further survived by many, many nieces and nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold;
brothers, Peter L. Poull, Ted Poull and Richard Poull;
and sisters, Helen McCabe and Marion Poull.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday,
Sept. 7, 2012, at 6 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church
in Port Washington with Father Tom Lijewski officiating.
She was laid to rest next to Harold in St. Mary’s
Cemetery in Port Washington. Visitation was held on
Friday, Sept. 7, at the church from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
