Dorothy L. Stehling, 93
L. Stehling, nee Cler, 93, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, Sept.
10, 2012, at The Fields of Washington County in West Bend.
She was born on May 1, 1919, in Milwaukee to the late Paul and Elsie
(nee Laabs) Cler. On Oct. 15, 1938, Dorothy was united in marriage to
Lawrence Stehling at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee. In 1952,
they began enjoying their summers on Little Cedar Lake and in 1966 they
started Ace-Auto Trim in West Bend, and Ace-Canvas in 1971. In 1970,
they moved from Milwaukee to Jackson. Lawrence preceded her in death on
Sept. 4, 1986.
Dorothy was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend.
Dorothy is survived by her three children, Sandra (Edward) Zovar, Jerry
(Theresa) Stehling, and Lee (Sandra) Stehling, all of West Bend; eight
grandchildren, Lori (Jeff) Lanser, Peggy (James) Bublitz, Joel (Jenn)
Zovar, Dina (Brett) Mendola, Shan (fiancée, Lisa Babka) Stehling, Monte
(fiancée, Becky Knapp) Stehling, Jaime (Jeffrey) Dietzler, and Jenna
(James) Welzein; 15 great-grandchildrenn ; sister, Lois Miller of
Milwaukee; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; sister,
Lorraine Paschke; brother, Milton Cler; and step-sister, June Pajari.
Funeral services in remembrance of Dorothy will be held on Thursday,
Sept. 13, 2012, at 3:30 p.m. at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home, 1315
W. Washington St., West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on
Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be
Friday in Washington County Memorial Park.
Memorials in Dorothy’s name to The Fields of Washington County are
