Sylvia Wessel, 86, of Cedarburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Lasata Care Center.

Sylvia was born on Aug. 18, 1926, to Golda Wendtlandt. Sylvia married her high school sweetheart, Ray Wessel of Mequon, on Oct. 20, 1946.

Sylvia and Ray were a founding member of Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.

Sylvia enjoyed collecting Hummels, Precious Moments and other collectibles. Sylvia made many friends throughout her years of collecting.

Sylvia is survived by nieces and nephews, Trudi (Jim) Biefeld of Cedarburg, Dennis (Anita) Wessel of Alva Lake, Jerry (Rose) Wessel of Grafton, Carol Trad of Grafton, and Marion (Willard) Hoppe of Thiensville; sister-in-law, Cela Wessel of Cedarburg; great-nieces and great-nephews, friends, and other relatives.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, and mother, Goldie.

Funeral services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at 6 p.m. Visitation will be on Monday at the church from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Rev. John Norquist will be presiding.

Interment will take place at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg.
