Eileen was called to her heavenly home, on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at the age of 72.

Eileen was born on June 25, 1940, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Rudi Weiss and Joesphine (nee Dieringer) Weiss, who both preceded her in death. She graduated from Custer High School, in Milwaukee and later married Donald Chapman, at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee on July 23, 1966. Their marriage was blessed with four children.

Eileen was a dynamic person who inspired industry in each one of her family members, always encouraging them to do their best. While Eileen and Don ran a family garden center in Cedarburg, she crocheted a bedspread in 2,000 hours. Eileen also knitted two Christmas stockings for each of her children, each stocking being a different style. She decorated St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church during the Christmas holiday for some years and decorated the family home with three loaded Christmas trees each year.

Eileen was very involved in the 4-H Program in Ozaukee County while her children were young, volunteering her time and talents. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, playing the piano, but she mostly enjoyed spending quality time with her children and 10 grandchildren. Eileen had a regular exercise program, which consisted of biking and walking. One of Eileen’s highlights before her illness, was when she visited the White House with a giant pumpkin.

We give thanks for her, and to her, as well as the many people who helped during these past three difficult years. She will be missed by the many people she touched throughout her 72 years.

Eileen is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Chapman; children, Peter (Julie) Chapman, Jerome (Terrie) Chapman, Mark (Cheri) Chapman, and Ann (Joe) Colwell; and twin sister, Irene (Lenard) Mumm. She is further survived by her 10 grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in- law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The family would like to especially thank the loving and caring staff at the Horizon Hospice in Mequon for all of their care and compassion which they provided to Eileen, as well as the entire Chapman family.
