A memorial service was held on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at 6 p.m. at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Gene L. Schubert of Cedarburg. The Rev. Randolph Raasch officiated the service. The family received family and friends, prior to the service, at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Memorials in Gene’s honor can be made to the charity of your choice.

Gene was born on Aug. 10, 1951, in Milwaukee, the son of Elroy Schubert and Lucille (nee Backhaus) Schubert. He graduated from West Bend High School and later served his country in the United States National Guard.

Gene passed away peacefully due to cancer, on Sept. 20, 2012, at the Aurora VNA Zilber Family Hospice, in Wauwatosa, at the age of 61.

Gene is survived by his son, Travis Schubert of West Bend; grandchildren, Nicholas and Olivia Schubert of West Bend; siblings, Bonnie (Ed) Bublitz of Jackson, Tom (Mary) Schubert of West Bend, Dan (Elaine) Schubert of West Bend, Shirley (Ken) Bublitz of Cedarburg, Chris (Ron) Wolfgram of Hudson, Jeff Schubert of Ojibwa, Steve (Lisa) Schubert of Glenbeulah, Lloyd (friend Ann) Schubert of Cedarburg, Nancy (Don) Helms of Hancock, and Keith Schubert of Cedarburg. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Elroy and Lucille Schubert.
