Gerald ‘Jerry’ L. Siegel, 83

Gerald "Jerry" L. Siegel, dear loving husband of 62 years of June, the love of his life, passed away Sept. 22, 2012.

He was born on March 25, 1929, in Milwaukee, the son of Ervin and Gertrude Siegel, who both preceded him in death. Jerry served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1951 to 1953. Jerry was assistant vice president of Corroon and Black of Wisconsin Inc. in underwriting management.

After 42 years, he retired and loved his outdoors, gardening etc. At the age of 76, he and June finally retired to the north woods and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Survivors include his wife, June; his children, the Rev. Dr. Calvin Siegel, Janine Elfe and Steven Siegel; also seven grandchildren, Jason Elfe, Chad Elfe, Emily Fischer, Zachary Siegel, Rachel Siegel, Isaac Siegel and Christopher Siegel, and three step-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, E10723 Highway Z, Wausau. The Rev. Tim Coppersmith will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
