Rosemary Wagner, 74

Rosemary Wagner passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at the age of 74 years, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 25, 1938, the daughter of Eddie and Agnes (nee Becker) Penoske.

Rosemary was born and raised in Slinger, where she graduated from Slinger High School in 1957. She worked as a beautician until 1963. Rosemary married William Wagner on Oct. 31, 1959. She was Bill’s partner and bookkeeper for Bill Wagner Construction. Together they raised eight children. Bill and Rosie purchased Wagner’s Landing in 1983, and retired in 2003 when they sold their bar business.

Rosie enjoyed playing cards, shopping, caring for her brother Butch who lived with her and Bill for 25 years, and socializing with friends and relatives. She greatly enjoyed her family.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Butch and infant brother Ed.

She is survived by her husband William Wagner of Hartford; her children Brenda Lee (James) Vogt of Hartford, Toby (Bill) Schickert of Slinger, Whitey (Mary) Wagner of Hartford, Laura Lee (Tony) Strobel of Neosho, Mary Lee (Kevin) Gehring of Iron Ridge, Ed (fiancée Pam McLeod) Wagner of Rubicon, Nikki (Jeff) Zimdars of Hartford, and Bobbie Jo (Jim) Zuern of Iron Ridge; 20 grandchildren, Jacob and Lucas Vogt, Whitney and Katelyn Schickert, Mason and Logan Wagner, Emily, Abigail, Madeline, Gregory and Erika Gehring, Lindsey, Tyler and Brandie Wagner, Myles and Bryce Zimdars, and Ryan, Rachel, Sarah and Adam Zuern.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, from 1-6 p.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home in Hartford with Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 from 9-9:45 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Slinger. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Richard Stoffel and the Rev. David LaPlante will officiate.
