Margaret E. Rohde, 87

Margaret E. Rohde, nee Justman, of West Bend died on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Froedtert Health St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 87 years. She was born on Nov. 30, 1925, in Mayville to the late Richard and Martha (nee Wagner) Justman. After growing up in Mayville, she moved to Plymouth where she attended and graduated from Plymouth High School.

On Nov. 13, 1948, she was united in marriage to Kenneth H. Rohde in Plymouth. Ken predeceased June 30, 1995.

In 1954, the family moved to West Bend. For a period of time, she worked as a bookkeeper at the former Ley’s Department Store in downtown West Bend. In 1970, she became employed as an executive secretary with the West Bend School District, retiring in 1988.

Her time and talent in making clothing was donated to those less fortunate. She recently completed her 1,000th outfit for the children of Haiti.

She was an active and involved member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Survivors include two sons Kurt (Kelly) of Andover, Minn. and Steve (Patti) of West Bend; four granddaughters: Erica, Michelle, Melissa (Tom) Hoogester and Jessica; three great-grandchildren Kyleigh, Carter and Jackson; two sisters and one brother Madeline Finke of Plymouth, Andrae (Jenny) Justman of Waupaca and Naomi (Howard) Kriewald of Iron Ridge; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Carl (Arlene) Justman and one sister Mary Ann (Gerhardt) Christian.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dave Kellerman officiating. Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church only on Friday from 5:30-6:45 p.m.
