Myrna J. Schaefer, 92

Myrna J. Schaefer (nee Schultz), 92, went home to be with the Lord and her beloved husband on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. She was born on June 25, 1920, to the late Edwin and Alma (nee Beilke) in the town of Herman and graduated from Hartford High School. She worked for Washington County and West Bend Mutual for a number of years. She married Joseph W. Schaefer on Oct. 16, 1948. She was a loyal member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church and active member of the Ladies Guild. She volunteered many years at Samaritan Health Center. She enjoyed camping with her family and traveling with her husband during retirement years.

Myrna was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. As she increased in age her family enjoyed the privilege of coming to know her more intimately as she shared the experiences of a life richly lived in faith and in love.

Myrna lived a life of gratitude even during difficult times. Up to the end she preached the gospel by her actions, accepting and embracing death with peace and dignity. She is survived by her loving children, Paula (John) Storck, Anne (Russ) Robbins; cherished grandchildren, Eric (Katie), Mike (Jess), and Julie Storck; Elaine, Peter, and Stephen Robbins; adored great-grandchildren, Joseph and Charles Storck; brother, Dennis Schultz, Sr.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister, Mabel.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at St. Johnís Lutheran Church (809 S. Sixth Ave., West Bend, WI 53095) at noon with the Rev. Dave Kellerman presiding. The visitation will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Johnís Church or Interfaith Caregivers.
