Betty Christen-Nothem, 57

Betty Christen-Nothem, 57, of West Bend died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Aurora Medical Center Washington County.

She was born March 1, 1956, in Monticello, Minn., to Harold and Marie (nee Brickweg) Christen and married Keith R. Nothem on May 29, 1982, at Holy Angles Catholic Church.

Betty worked at WBKV for many years before working in sales and marketing at Cedar Ridge. She then became the manager at Cedar Ridge before becoming the director of marketing and sales for Cedar Community.

She was a member of Holy Angles for over 30 years and was a devout Catholic. She belonged to the West Bend Jaycettes for a number of years where she met her husband who was a Jaycee. Betty was an avid reader and belonged to a monthly book club where she enjoyed not only the reading but the friendships she established.

Betty is survived by her husband of 30 years, Keith; two daughters: Tasha (Paul) Baures of Waukesha and Kate (Matt) Eiden of Albertville, Minn.; and five grandchildren: Gabby, Willem, Sofia, Lucy and Christopher. She is further survived by her mother Marie Christen of Melrose, Minn.; four siblings: Harry (Dorothy) Christen of Duluth, Minn., Duane Christen of Fosston, Minn., Mary Jane Christen of New Munich, Minn. and Geraldine (Mark) Wirtanen of Cottage Grove, Minn.; her mother-in-law Bealuh Nothem of West Bend; her brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law: David (Carol) Nothem of Campbellsport, Mark (Nancy) Nothem of West Bend, Sandy (Dave) Noegel of West Bend and Jeff (Lara) Nothem of Mayville; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives, and friends. Betty will be deeply missed by her close and loving family at Cedar Ridge.

She is preceded in death by her father Harold Christen and her father-in-law Ralph Nothem.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend with the Rev. Gerald Brittain presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, at the church only from 9-10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society of the Holy Angels School Trust Fund are appreciated.
