Troy J. Mortimer, 49

Troy J. Mortimer, 49, who drove semi all across this great country, continued traveling to his eternal home Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at St Joseph’s Hospital, town of Polk.

He was born Jan. 24, 1964, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Rice Lake, to Diane Turcotte. Troy graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1982. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a firemen tech nuclear specialist. Troy loved being on the open road as a longdistance hauler which he did for most of his life.

Troy is survived by his mother, Diane Turcotte of Turtle Lake; his stepfather, Larry Mortimer of Port Wing; a son, Timothy; siblings, Kim (Ted) Suo, Sherri Hadeler, Jerry (Pam) Mortimer; uncles, John and Randy Turcotte; faithful canine companion, Turbo; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and several trucker friends whom Troy considered family. He is preceded in death by wife, Roxanne, grandparents, uncle, Bud Marske and cousin, Kelsa Marske.

A memorial gathering for Troy will be held Friday, June 21, 2013, from noon-1:30 p.m. at the Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland. The committal service with full military honors will follow at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
