Stella H. Rakoczy, 97

A prayer service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory in Grafton, for Stella H. Rakoczy. The prayer service will be officiated by Brenda Cline of St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Grafton. A visitation will take place prior to the prayer service on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Mequon.

Stella passed away at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton on July 7, 2013, at the age of 97.

Stella was born on March 2, 1916, in Chicago, the daughter of Jan Kolat and Anne (nee Bawil) Kolat. She was united in marriage to Stephen Rakoczy, on Aug. 3, 1946, in Hammond, Ind. They later started their family in Hammond and there they raised their two children, Patricia and Steven.

Stella and her husband, Stephen, resided in Hammond until 2002, when they relocated to the Harbor Club in Port Washington to be closer to their son, Steve. Shortly after their move to Port Washington, her husband, Stephen, passed away in May of 2003. Stella remained a resident at both the Harbor Club as well as Harbor Cove. She enjoyed playing bingo as well as making friends with all of the residents. Stella enjoyed crocheting afghans as well as Christmas wreaths for all of her family and friends.

Stella is survived by her children, Patricia Jachim of Comstock Park, Mich., and Steven (Lisa) Rakoczy of Grafton; and grandchildren, Daniel (Tracey Seppala) Jachim of Holland, Mich., Nancy (Brad) Ludwig of Comstock Park, Mich., Scott (Janice Fox) Jachim of Griffith, Ind., Casey Rakoczy of Portland, Ore., Zachary Rakoczy of Lowell, N.C., and Andrea Rakoczy of Milwaukee. She is further survived by many great- and great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stephen Rakoczy; and many siblings.
