Adeline B. Mayer, 80

Adeline B. Mayer passed away Monday, July 8, 2013, with her loving husband at her side. She was born in Hartford on Oct. 1, 1932, the daughter of Henry and Caroline (nee Kraemer) Schellinger.

Adeline attended St. Kilian Catholic School and graduated from Hartford Union High School. She was very musically gifted and played in the family band at the Schwartz Ballroom until high school. Adeline married William at St. Kilian Catholic Church on July 21, 1956. Before she began raising her family, she worked at Kraft Foods.

Besides raising her children, Adeline volunteered at St. Kilian School and Church and the Hartford Hospital. She was a loving wife and a wonderful mother. Adeline and Bill enjoyed going to their cottage in Eagle River. She was a fantastic cook and baker.

Adeline is survived by her loving husband William R. Mayer, her children William H. (Lynette) Mayer of Hubertus, Carol (Ray) Riska of Sussex, Michael Mayer of Hartford and Kathleen Mayer of New Berlin, her granddaughter Alexandra Riska, her sister Marilyn Rahlf of Brookfield and her sister-inlaw Adeline of Hartford. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her brothers Marvin Schellinger and Stuart Schellinger.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 12, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church. Mass of Resurrection will follow at 7 p.m. at the church. Interment at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 13 at St. Kilian Cemetery.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of The Memory Unit at Emerald Ridge for their loving care of Adeline.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Alzheimerís Association or St. Kilianís would be appreciated.
