Ralph F. Smith, 82

Ralph F. Smith of Hartford, formerly of the town of Jackson, died on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at Emerald Ridge Assisted Living at the age of 82 years. He was born on March 10, 1931, in Milwaukee to the late Frank and Clara (nee Krause) Smith.

During the Korean Conflict, he served with the United States Army in Korea. Following his discharge, he returned to Wisconsin.

For many years, he worked as a mechanic with the Russ Darrow Group and also assisted in preparing vehicles for customers.

He was a member of the S/Sgt Henry F. Gumm Post No. 486 American Legion in Jackson.

Survivors include one sister, Marie Behling; niece and nephews Frank (Doris) Behling, Mary (Steve) Reisman and Allen (Suzanne) Behling; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Chester, and one brother-in-law, Edward Behling.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. at Frieden's Cemetery, located on the corners of Highway P and Cedar Creek Road in the town of Jackson.
