Alfred G. Bodden, 84

Alfred G. Bodden, 84, of Theresa, passed away on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Aurora Medical Center, Hartford.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Theresa, with the Rev. Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 9–11 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Theresa. Inurnment will take place at St. Theresa Memorial Garden, Theresa.

Alfred was born to Edmund and Pauline (Ritger) Bodden on Nov. 30, 1928, in Theresa. He was a farmer in the town of Theresa and was also employed as a shipping clerk at Gehl Co. in West Bend for 28 years.

Alfred was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Theresa. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Theresa’s, as well as holding other various offices within the church. Al also served on the Dodge County Board for three years, and was town of Theresa treasurer for 28 years. He was a member of the Rock River League Baseball All-Star team. He also enjoyed playing golf, going to casinos and playing cards.

Alfred is survived by his children, Alan (Karen) Bodden of Beaver Dam; Andrew Bodden of Madison; and Bradley (Stephanie) Bodden of Deforest; special friend Rita Lackas of Theresa; three sisters, Esther Kirsch of Hartford, Loretta Sauer of Fond du Lac, and Alice Bingen of Allenton; sisterin- law Delores Bodden of Kewaskum; brother-in-law Edmund (Grace) Mikalofsky of Fond du lac; five grandchildren, Ryan (Valarie) Bodden, Nicole Bodden, Sarah Bodden, Erica Bodden, and Benjamin Bodden; four great-grandchildren, Jayda, Autumn, Wyatt, and Aubrey; and further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ann; daughter Wendy; three brothers, Peter Bodden, Leo Bodden, and Bernie Bodden; two sisters, Eleanor and Flora; brothers- in-law, Norbert Bingen, Walter Sauer, and Leroy Miller; and sister-in-law Helen Bodden.

Memorials may be directed to the Macular Degeneration Fund.
