Roberta ‘Berta’ Jean Gall, 61

Roberta “Berta” Jean Gall, 61, of Appleton, died peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Theda Clark Medical Center.

Roberta was born March 7, 1952, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Margaret (nee Strosina) Giese, Grafton and Chester Giese. Berta was united in marriage to Dennis L. Gall on June 8, 1974, in Saukville, and they were blessed with two children, Mandy and Daniel. Berta was a dental assistant for many years in the Fox Valley, and was last employed with Dr. David Ehlert in Neenah.

Berta loved to ski with her family, taking ski trips to Blackjack in the Upper Peninsula and to Snowmass, Colo. She and Dennis enjoyed watching and teaching their kids to ski. Vacationing and sharing in jocularity with family and friends at Cool Sha Nagh on Enterprise Lake was a favorite pastime. There, they enjoyed water skiing and paddleboating. Berta was a card player and loved to play Scrabble. She was an avid reader and enjoyed boating. The Brewers, Badgers and Packers were her favorite teams to follow. She and Dennis enjoyed watching Bill O’Reilly together daily.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis; daughter, Mandy (Nate) Stan, Appleton; and son, Daniel (best gal, Beth) Gall, Madison. “Amma” will be missed by her grandchildren, Carter, Lily and Griffin Stan – they loved when Amma would sneak them candy! She is also survived by a sister, Kathryn (Ken) Wegner, Cedarburg; two brothers, Clayton (Nancy) Giese, Grafton and Clifford (Becky) Giese, Fredonia; and by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Chester.
