Lucile J. Miller, 99

Lucile J. Miller, nee Giese, of West Bend died on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at The Fields of Washington County at the age of 99 years. She was born on Sept. 11, 1914 in the town of Rhine in Sheboygan County to the late Carl and Lillie (nee Feldmann) Giese.

On June 14, 1941, she was united in marriage to Edwin J. Miller in Plymouth. Ed preceded her in death on April 10, 2010 at the age of 92.

For many years, Lu was employed as a bookkeeper by Washington County at the former county home and hospital. Prior to her retirement, she was the bookkeeper at the Samaritan Health Center.

She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ for more than 75 years.

Survivors include three children: Larry (Lynn) of West Bend, Steve (fiancée Karen) of West Bend and Sue (Don) Aude of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren: Lori (Paul) Popernik, Len (Lori) Miller, Matt (Mandy) Miller, Katelyn Miller and Kristin Miller; seven great-grandchildren: Noah and Maya Popernik, Emery, Ella and Eden Miller, and Cameron and Alexia Miller; one sister Rheina Klein of Brookfield; one sister-in-law Rose Kuehl of Kewaskum; and nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Gladys (Milton) Dickmann, one brother Fred (Dolores) Giese; and brothers- in-law and sisters-in-law Marcella (Corky) Michels, Lucille “Tudy” (Harold) Eisen, Jim Miller, Harvey (Evelyn) Miller, Leroy (Eleanor) Miller, Charles Palt, Wes Kuehl and Orville Klein.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date to honor and remember Lu and Ed. Inurnment will be at Washington County Memorial Park.
