Carol C. Kaliebe, 88

Carol C. Kaliebe, 88, of Grafton was called to her eternal rest in Heaven on Sept. 26, 2013, at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg. Carol passed away in peace in the presence of family members.

Carol was the daughter of William and Helen Schneider, born in Milwaukee on Feb. 17, 1925. She spent her early life in Milwaukee, where she met and married her loving husband, Kenneth Kaliebe, on June 15, 1946. From this union, Carol was blessed with two children, Kathryn and Jeffrey, of which she remained very close. Carol was a loving and adoring mother, grandmother and teacher to her family.

Her family moved in 1968 to Grafton, where she lived until her passing. Carol was employed for many years as a shipping clerk at Sprague Electric. She made many friends at Sprague and several had remained close lifelong friends. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church from which she felt a strong sense of community. This was instrumental in the comfort she felt toward the later years of her life. Carol enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her family. She loved fishing, always spending weeks “up north” with family every summer. She also enjoyed reading, making crafts and was a loyal Milwaukee Brewers fan. Carol loved watching her Brewers at every opportunity. She is survived by her children, Kathryn (Kevin) Bert of Grafton and Jeffrey (Susan) Kaliebe of Wausau; five grandchildren, Daniel Bert, Zachary (Pamela) Kaliebe, Amy (John) Schumacher, Melissa (David) Carpenter and Rachel Kaliebe; as well as three step-grandchildren, Jason (Aida) Barttelt, Jesse Barttelt and Jake Barttelt; three step-great-grandchildren, Tessa, Tristin and Rihanna Barttelt.

Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth; parents; brother, Earl Schneider; as well as distant relatives and friends.

A celebration of Carol’s life was held on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, at 11 a.m. The visitation was held, at the church, prior to the funeral Mass from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Interment took place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Grafton.
