Elizabeth M. Doll
Elizabeth “Betty” M. Doll (nee Wolf) passed away on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at the age of 86 years. Betty was born on March 2, 1927, in St. Lawrence to William and Eleanor (nee Meyer) Wolf. She married Herman Doll on May 8, 1948, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Betty is survived by her children Kenneth (Susan) Doll of Hatley, Richard (Linda) Doll of West Bend, and Terri (Bob) Gessner of West Bend; grandchildren Brian Doll of Schofield with his children Kayla and Nicholas, Aaron (Kim) Doll of Birnamwood with their children Brittney and Brianna, Kristin (Josh) Smith of Hatley, Joshua (Rianna) Doll of West Bend with their children Mady, Ellie, and Jacob, Michael (Chanda) Doll of West Bend with their children Dylan and Olivia, Meghan Doll of West Bend, Lindsay Doll of West Bend, and Jenni (Dave Zoesch) Gessner of Kewaskum. She is further survived by her siblings and inlaws Arlene Wolf, Rosella Wolf, Lucille (Jerry) Lofy, Werner Wolf, Florence (Tom) Schellinger, Jerry (Donna) Wolf, Armella (Wayne) Dolgner, Leroy (Veronica) Doll, MaryAnn Schaefer, Carol Doll, Julia Doll, Ginny (Stan) Griesemer, Theresa (Joe) Melzer, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband Herman; grandson Kevin Gessner; great-grandson Michael Doll; parents William and Eleanor Wolf; in-laws Herman and Anna Doll; brothers Walter, Gilbert and Marcel Wolf; and siblings-inlaw Jerome Wolf, Rosie Wolf, Rita Wolf, Dorothy (Granny Zweig) Muckerheide, Gerald Schaefer, Lee Doll, Eugene Doll, Carol Wolf and Henry Guetzkow.
Faith was incredibly important to Betty. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception St. Mary’s Catholic Church and most recently Holy Angels Catholic Church. She attended Mass regularly up until her illness last year.
Betty enjoyed 79 years of music. For 35 years, she played in numerous local bands. She taught piano, accordion and guitar lessons. Betty enjoyed playing accordion and keyboard at Riverview and Samaritan nursing homes and the Hartford Senior Center. Betty’s hobbies included playing music, dancing, travel, sheepshead, sewing, quilting, gardening and taking gambling trips. In 2009, she won the Mayor’s Beautification Award for her beautiful gardens. She shared not only her flowers with family, neighbors and friends but also many handmade quilts, tree skirts and other items.
Betty was very active in the community having worked in both the West Bend and Slinger food pantries, and she also volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. Eighth Ave. in West Bend. Visitation will be at the church from 3-5:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013.
Private interment will take place at Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery.

Also extended is a special thank you to her many friends who stood by her, her special neighbors Fritz and Rita Schmitt and Margaret Lochbaum who kept a watchful eye for the family, her handyman Ernie Marier, her very good friends Lorraine Boden, Norman and Rosemary Kutz, Norman and the late Gene Matenaer, and Carol Doll (her very special sisterin- law and good friend), and all her great friends at the Hartford Senior Center.
