Ivan R. House, 73

Ivan R. House of Riverview Trail in Fredonia passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 7, 2013, at Horizon Hospice in Mequon. He was 73 years old.

Ivan was born in Milwaukee on Dec. 30, 1939, the son of Archibald and Ester Kolander House. He attended local schools and later graduated with a degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering. He was united in marriage with Kristy Timonen in 1964. She preceded him in death in 1984. Following her death, Ivan moved to Mequon and later Cedarburg, moving to Fredonia in 1988.

Ivan had worked as a production manager for various manufacturing companies in Milwaukee in his younger days, and more recently had worked in sales for A-1. While living in Mequon, he was a member and former trustee of Mequon United Methodist Church, as well as belonging to the Masonic Lodge. Ivan was a longtime member of the Ozaukee Chorus and had enjoyed the many years of friendship and camaraderie that it brought. While attending rehearsal one evening, he met Marianne Kartheiser. That evening began a loving relationship that lasted more than 25 years.

Ivan enjoyed woodworking, playing piano and was an accomplished artist. He was a very generous man and had a wonderful sense of humor. Ivan is survived by Marianne and her two children, Chris (Mary Ann) Fawcett of Lodi and Lauri Wells of Dallas; as well as Lauriís children, Jesse and Allana Wells. He is further survived by his sister, Vivian (Floyd) Brown of Oregon; sisters-in-law Elaine (the late Eugene) House of Milwaukee and Karen Timonen of West Allis; other relatives and many friends. He is also survived by his loving dog, Freeda Visa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kristy; and his brother, Eugene.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Friedens Evangelical Church, 454 N. Milwaukee St., Port Washington. Pastor Brandon Lemons will preside. Ivan will be laid to rest in Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
