Thomas R. Kuechler, 73

Thomas R. Kuechler, “Tom,” “T.K”, 73, of Hartford, passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Oct. 5, 1940, in Waukesha, to Reinhold and Pearl (nee Schlesner) Kuechler.

He married Sandra F. (nee Elsinger) on Oct. 5, 1990, in Hartford.

In Tom’s early years, he loved playing baseball and later played softball for Gene’s Bar. Along with his passion for baseball, he was a huge NASCAR fan; his favorite drivers included Rusty Wallace and Tony Stewart. He enjoyed restoring cars, completing a 1951 Ford, repairing lawn mowers and tractors, and his lifelong career of carpentry, construction and machinery.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra; loving children, Mark (Tammy) Kuechler, Kurt Kuechler, Steven (Cate) Indermuehle, Kurt Indermuehle, Julie (Matt) Pieper of Virginia, and Scott (Debbie) Indermuehle of Tennessee; cherished grandchildren, Becky (Matt) Herther, Matt Kuechler, Emmett Pieper, Allie Pieper, Nolan Indermuehle, Riley, Katrina, and Colin Indermuehle; two great-grandchildren, Owen and Chelsea Herther; dearest siblings, Ralph (Jean) Kuechler of Rubicon, Darlene (Mark) Hesprich of Waukesha, Betty (Gene) Omann of Hartland, Tony Kuechler of Colgate, Roseanne (Allen) Brownrigg of Waukesha, Ray (Debbie) Kuechler of Dousman and Danny (Bambi) Kuechler of Colgate; sister-in-law, Mary (Tom) Dietzler; and lifelong friend, Jerry McComb. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Reinhold and Pearl Kuechler; brothers, Elmer and William “Bill” Kuechler; and sister, Ruth Checolinski.

A memorial service for Tom will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St., Hartford, WI 53027) with the Rev. James Castillo officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 3-7 p.m. Interment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tom’s name to Gentiva Hospice are greatly appreciated.
