Barbara M. Horak, 83

Barbara M. Horak (nee Lustig), 83, passed away on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Community Memorial Hospital. She was born on Feb. 2, 1930, in Milwaukee to the late Frank and Mamie (nee Fischer) Lustig.

She graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee. She married John Horak on June 30, 1951, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She volunteered regularly at the Hartford Health Care Center for more than 25 years, and was a longtime member of the Christian Mothers of St. Peterís in Slinger.

Barbara was a devoted mother to her children, Bob Horak, Joan (Scott Sr.) Toro, Judy Berg, Bill Horak, Becky (Todd) Scoles; grandchildren, Scott (Jaimie) Toro Jr., Angela Toro, Dan (Karrie) Berg, Ryan Horak, Curtis Hinca, Tim, Tom, and Tammy Horak, and Courtney and Keegan Scoles; two great-grandchildren, Scott III and Breanna; sisters, Carol Greenleaf from Phoenix and Alyce Stangel from Jacksonville, Fla. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John and brother, Don Lustig.

The visitation will be at St. Peterís Catholic Church (200 E. Washington St., Slinger, WI 53086) on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, from 10-11:45 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Dec. 27 at noon at St. Peterís Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Stoffel presiding. A private interment will take place at (new) St. Peterís Cemetery.
