Claire Horn

Claire M. Horn, age 94, of Neenah, formerly of West Bend, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at the Cherry Meadows Hospice. He was born Sept. 19, 1919. in Plum City to the late Peter and Lona (nee Hofacker) Horn.

Claire graduated from Kewaskum High School and worked at Amity Leather Products until entering the U.S. Army on July 4, 1942. He was sent to join the newly formed 95th Division at Camp Swift, Texas. He left for Europe in August of 1944 and fought for their liberation under the command of Gen. George S. Patton.

Upon his return from Europe he was united in marriage to Priscilla Ann Domask on July 16, 1945, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Berlin. They settled in Kewaskum until moving to West Bend in 1956. He was employed at Pick Manufacturing for more than 39 years, retiring in 1985. He also began working as a custodian at the First State Bank in 1964 and also Marine Bank and Bank One, retiring in 1989.

Claire and Priscilla enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, especially Hawaii.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Priscilla, two children: Michael (Elizabeth) of Boise, Idaho, and Cheryl (Mike) Barth of Neenah, three grandchildren: Christopher (Jennie) Barth, Sarah Barth and Laura Barth, and three great-grandchildren: Audrey, Jack and Callen Barth. He is further survived by his brother Bernard (Doris) of Plymouth, his sister Phyllis Perryman of Winnebago, Minn., his brother-in-law Pete Koteski of Berlin and other relatives and friends.

Claire is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Lona Horn, his brother Francis and his wife Rose, his brother-in-law Lawrence Perryman and two sisters-in-law: Doris Koteski and Elaine Domask.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at noon at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend with Rev. Enrique Hernandez presiding. Entombment will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday at the church only from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Frances Cabrini Church are appreciated.
