Myrtle E. Hanrahan,
Myrtle E. Hanrahan (nee Schmidt), 85, of West Bend died Saturday, April
6, 2013, at The Lighthouse of West Bend. She was born Oct. 19, 1927, in
Kewaskum to the late Martin and Frances (nee Ruplinger) Schmidt and
married Jerome Hanrahan on May 29, 1948, at Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Jerome preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2011.
Myrtle graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1945. Following her
marriage to Jerome they lived in Kewaskum before settling in West Bend
in 1952. After she raised her family she worked at Schloemer Law Office
until her retirement.
She enjoyed fishing and playing cards and loved spending time with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Myrtle is survived by her three children: Donald (Jan) of Plymouth, John
(significant other Cindy Torres) of Campbellsport and Michael of
Hubertus, three grandchildren: Christopher (Karen), Kelly (Keith) Klug
and Sacha (Adam) Osuski and four great-grandchildren. She is further
survived by two sisters-in-law: Ruth Schmidt of West Bend and Marie
Wietor of Kewaskum, two brothers-in-law George (Mary) Hanrahan of
Kewaskum and Raynor Herriges of Kewaskum, and nieces, nephews and other
relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Frances Schmidt, her
husband Jerome, three brothers: Walter (Loretta) Schmidt, Lloyd Schmidt
and Harold Schmidt, a sister-inlaw Patricia Herriges, and a
brother-in-law Cyril Wietor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 12, 2013, at 6
p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend with the Rev. Gerald
Brittain presiding. Burial will be Saturday in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, at Holy Angels Church from 4-5:45 p.m.
Memorials to the Holy Angels School Trust Fund, Holy Angels Church or
the charity of the donorís choice are appreciated.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Robert
Gibson and his staff and the nurses at Grace Hospice and extend a
special thank you to the staff at The Lighthouse of West Bend for the
kind and loving compassion given to Myrtle.
