Ezekiel John Jonas,
“Zeke” John Jonas, 20, of Manitowish Waters, passed unexpectedly on Aug.
1st, 2013. He was born in Woodruff on Nov. 20, 1992, to Bruce and René
Jonas. He graduated from Lakeland Union High School in 2011. Zeke was
employed with Folsom Farms Cranberry Marsh in Manitowish Waters and was
an integral part of the daily cranberry marsh operations. He was also
employed at the Aberdeen Lodge in Manitowish Waters. In the off-season,
he was a member of the Matt Ritchie Motorsports Race Team as a chassis
Zeke was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a
proud lifetime sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. His love of watersports
involved him in the Plum Skeeters Waterski Team, where he enjoyed taking
part in the barefooting line, pyramid and doubles. When Zeke was not
skiing, you could still find him boating with friends and family.
Zeke was a craftsman with skills beyond his years. He was passionate
about woodworking, welding and taxidermy. Other hobbies Zeke enjoyed
were snowmobiling, four wheeling, motocross, pond hockey, football and
golfing, amongst many other activities. Zeke was preceded in death by
his father, Bruce Jonas, and is survived by his mother, René Jonas
(Brian Rayala); siblings Brittany (Matt Schultz), Zachariah, Lyndsey
(Bruno Borowczyk), Natalie, (Ty and Travis Rayala); and Zeke’s beloved
dog Emma. He is further survived by grandparents Don and Kay Jonas and
family, along with grandparents Lynn and Margaret Kirsteatter and
Funeral services for Zeke will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m.
at the Faith Free Evangelical Church in Woodruff. Visitation will be
from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ezekiel Jonas
Memorial Fund established at the River Valley Bank.
